Yes—Hertz has been selling off a big chunk of its electric fleet, chiefly Teslas, after discovering repair costs and depreciation bite harder than expected.

In 2024 they announced roughly 20,000 EVs would be de-fleeted, with many listed through Hertz’s sales and auction channels, largely in the US.

They’re still renting EVs, just fewer of them, while the clearance sale thins the herd.
