hitched meaning

“Hitched” usually means two things, both tricky to undo without paperwork or swearing.

In everyday Aussie speak, it’s slang for getting married—rings on, in-laws acquired, jokes about the ute being sold.

In a more literal, tow-ball sense, it means attaching a trailer, caravan or horse float to a vehicle via a hitch.

Context is king: if someone says they’re hitched this weekend, either they’re off to a wedding or they’re dragging half the shed down the Hume.
