holden colorado automatic transmission service Page 4

Your Holden Colorado’s auto likes fresh fluid, despite the brochure whispering “sealed for life”—life’s shorter in Aussie heat, towing and stop‑start.

A sensible rule is a fluid service every 60,000–80,000 km (or about 4 years); if you tow, beach‑drive or work it hard, aim for 40,000–60,000 km instead.

Ask for the manufacturer‑approved ATF for your VIN, replace the pan gasket and the filter (where serviceable), and have the shop check for software updates and adaptation resets.

Expect roughly AUD 350–500 for a drain‑and‑fill inspection, and about AUD 600–900 for a full fluid exchange with filter, depending on workshop and state.

Shudder, flaring shifts, delayed engagement or a burnt‑smelling fluid are your cue you’ve waited long enough—book it before bigger bills appear.

Always follow the schedule in the owner’s manual and use the exact fluid spec listed there.
