Craving a clean dash without the chemical fog? Mix 500 ml distilled water + 2–3 drops mild dish soap in a spray bottle, mist onto a microfiber cloth (not the dash), and wipe like you mean it.

For greasy fingerprints, add 1–2 teaspoons white vinegar to the mix—but keep it away from leather and glossy screens; they’re about as fond of vinegar as tyres are of nails.

Skip silicone sprays and kitchen-oil “hacks”; they attract dust and leave things slicker than a Friday arvo excuse.

Stubborn gunk? Use a dab of 70% isopropyl alcohol, spot-test first, and don’t linger.

Finish with a proper UV protectant for automotive plastics to keep the Aussie sun from cooking it.

Result: clean, matte, and not so shiny your phone slides into the footwell.
