hope pro 5 review

The Hope Pro 5 is the sort of hub that shrugs off foul weather like a kelpie in a sprinkler—utterly unfussed. Engagement is noticeably quicker than the old Pro 4 and drag is trimmed, so it snaps into drive without feeling like you’re pedalling through porridge. Sealing and bearings are stout, service is genuinely home‑mechanic friendly, and spares are easy to source in Australia. On the flipside, it’s not the lightest option on the rack and the freehub still belts out a proud buzz when coasting—glorious to some, grating to others. Build quality is excellent, UK-made, with plenty of axle and freehub options for modern drivetrains. If you value reliability and crisp pickup over gram-count bragging rights, it’s a cracking long-haul choice for trail, enduro, and e-MTB duty.
