Despite years of promises, true hover cars that float above the ground remain a novelty rather than a practical vehicle. Most “hover cars” you’ll hear about are either concept designs or experimental prototypes using magnetic levitation or fans, none of which are road-legal or available for purchase on Tradingpost or CarShowroom.

In short, if you’re dreaming of zipping over traffic jams on a cushion of air, you’re looking at a few decades away from reality. Meanwhile, petrol and electric vehicles remain the humble kings of our roads.
