In Queensland, you get your learner licence once you’re 16 and pass the road rules—either via PrepL online or the Class C knowledge test at a customer service centre.
Bring valid ID, pass an eyesight check, pay the fee, and you’ll emerge with an L and a newfound respect for speed bumps.
While learning you must display L plates, drive with a supervisor on an open licence, keep your BAC at 0.00, and ditch the phone entirely—hands-free included.
If you’re under 25 you’ll need a logbook with 100 hours of supervised driving including 10 hours at night; if you’re 25 or over, no logbook hours are required.
Stick to posted limits, follow the conditions, and you’ll be queuing for the P test before your mates finish arguing about parallel parks.
