how does uber carshare work Page 2

Uber Carshare (the artist formerly known as Car Next Door) is peer‑to‑peer car hire: locals list cars, you borrow them, everyone pretends they’re greener and tidier than they are.

Sign up in the app, verify your licence and payment details, then search the map and book by the hour or day.

You unlock with the app (or a lockbox), grab the key, and off you go—fuel policy is either a per‑km charge or use a fuel card and snap the receipt.

Pricing is a time rate plus a distance fee, tolls and fines pass through to you, and there’s included insurance with an excess if fate or a bollard intervenes.

Return the car on time to its home spot, tidy, and upload before/after photos so disputes stay short and sweet.

Owners get paid, the platform handles bookings and support, and you get wheels without owning a depreciating lawn ornament.
