how long after rego expires to renew vic Page 26

In Victoria, the rego (vehicle registration) expiry date is a hard stop, not a suggestion. Once it expires, technically you’re driving an unregistered vehicle, which is illegal and can cost you a hefty fine. You have a 3-month grace period to renew your rego without having to re-do the roadworthy inspection, but it’s best not to push your luck. After 3 months, you’ll need a new roadworthy certificate to get back on the road. So, don’t wait until the last minute—head to VicRoads or check Tradingpost for renewal reminders and options.
