how long does ev battery last Page 3

EV batteries typically last between 8 to 15 years or around 160,000 to 240,000 kilometres, depending on usage and environmental conditions.

Most manufacturers offer warranties covering at least 8 years or 160,000 km, which should keep your electric chariot humming along without drama.

However, battery capacity degrades over time, leading to reduced range, so don’t expect your EV to feel as sprightly as day one after a decade.

Proper charging habits and avoiding extreme temperatures can extend battery life.

For used EVs on sites like Tradingpost and CarShowroom, check battery health reports to avoid nasty surprises.
