In Queensland, a roadworthy is a Safety Certificate, and it doesn’t live forever.
For private sellers it’s valid for 2 months or 2,000 km from issue, whichever comes first.
For licensed motor dealers it’s 3 months or 1,000 km, also whichever comes first.
You need one before advertising a registered vehicle for sale and for most rego transfers—if the time or kilometres run out, you’ll need a fresh inspection.
