In Victoria, a Certificate of Roadworthiness is valid for 30 days from the date of issue.
That means your transfer or registration application needs to be processed within those 30 days, or you’ll need a fresh inspection.
It’s a snapshot of minimum safety at the time, not a long-term warranty, so don’t expect it to bless dodgy shocks six months later.
Buying or selling privately? Time it right: get the RWC close to the handover so you’re not racing the calendar.
