In Victoria, your probationary stint is basically a marathon: P1 (red) for about 1 year, then P2 (green) for roughly 3 years, so up to four years all up. If you get your first licence at 21 or older, you usually skip P1 and go straight to P2 for around three years—less faff, same rulesy fun. Rack up a suspension and the clock can stretch like cheap chewing gum. Through it all, think 0.00 BAC and stricter conditions (plus tighter passenger limits on P1). When in doubt, check VicRoads for the fine print before you plan the victory lap.
