In Queensland, if you’re under 25 you’ll typically spend 3 years on P plates: P1 for 12 months and then P2 for 24 months, assuming you pass the Hazard Perception Test and keep your record clean.
If you’re 25 or over, you usually skip P1 and go straight to P2 for at least 12 months after passing the practical test (no logbook hours required).
Zero BAC, mobile phone bans and other conditions still apply—Queensland doesn’t do half measures.
Check the latest from Queensland TMR if you’ve been sitting on your Ls longer than your sourdough starter; rules can update and nobody told your group chat.
