how long rwc valid for qld Page 210

In Queensland, a safety certificate (RWC) for a private seller is valid for 2 months or 2,000 km from the date it’s issued—whichever comes first.

Licensed motor dealers get up to 3 months or 1,000 km, again whichever comes first, because showroom tyres shouldn’t do all the hard yards.

For re‑registering an unregistered vehicle, the same 2‑month window generally applies.

Once it expires, you’ll need a fresh inspection before selling or transferring rego, so keep one eye on the calendar and the other on the odo.
