how low can your car be qld Page 157

Ah, the eternal struggle: how low can you go before the Queensland police come knocking? In QLD, the legal ride height isn’t set in stone but governed by the Vehicle Standards Bulletin 14 (VSB14). The key is that your vehicle must maintain adequate ground clearance and safe suspension travel without bottoming out on bumps or speed humps. Typically, this means no extreme lowering that compromises safety or causes scraping on public roads.

Lowering your car excessively can trigger issues like poor handling, increased wear, and legal headaches. It’s a murky area best navigated by consulting with QLD’s Department of Transport or ServiceCentral for up-to-date compliance advice. Remember, if your lowered beast can’t pass an inspection or causes road hazards, it’s trouble.
