Applying for a driving licence in Victoria is a rite of passage, minus the drum circle. Start by booking with VicRoads: bring proof of identity/residency, pass an eyesight check and the learner permit knowledge test to get your Ls (from age 16). Then get supervised practice—if you’re under 21 you’ll need at least 120 hours, including 20 at night; 21+ has no fixed hours but plenty of practice is still wise. Next, pass the Hazard Perception Test (often online), book the Drive Test at a VicRoads centre, and pay the relevant fees. If successful, you’ll score a probationary P licence (P1 then P2) before graduating to a full licence in due course. Rules and fees change, so check current VicRoads guidance before you rock up with a face like thunder.
