how to fix cruise control Page 10

Before blaming witchcraft, confirm the basics: cruise only arms above the system’s minimum speed and with the master switch on, so try again on a clear stretch. If it still refuses, check fuses and whether your brake lights work; a dodgy brake‑pedal or clutch switch will cancel cruise faster than you can say “roadworks.” Next, clean and click the steering‑wheel buttons, and scan for ABS/engine fault codes—wheel‑speed or throttle issues will put cruise in the naughty corner. Older vacuum setups hate cracked hoses; newer drive‑by‑wire cars sulk with a dirty throttle body or out‑of‑date software. If you’ve ticked those boxes and it’s still dead, an auto‑electrician with a scan tool will save you an afternoon of creative language.
