how to make sv6 faster Page 20

The SV6 is a naturally aspirated 3.6‑litre Holden, so forget fairy tales—small, smart tweaks beat wallet‑vapourising hero mods.

Start with the boring but brilliant stuff: fresh plugs and filters, top‑quality 98 RON, a proper service, sticky tyres and an alignment; that makes it quicker where it counts—corners and overtakes.

An intake and cat‑back exhaust plus a quality ECU tune won’t turn it into a V8, but you’ll get crisper throttle, a fatter mid‑range and cleaner shifts; autos benefit from a transmission tune, manuals from a tidy clutch and shifter.

Shorter diff gears add real punch off the line at the cost of more revs on the highway, and losing unsprung weight (lighter wheels) helps everywhere.

Keep it legal: noise limits, emissions, insurance disclosure and defect rules vary by state, and P‑plate restrictions still apply even if it says “SV6”.
