how to sell a cat gold coast Page 5

Tradingpost lists cats and kittens for sale in Queensland, listed by private sellers and businesses. Listings carry the photos, age, sex and breed the seller has entered, along with a way to contact that seller direct, so you can ask your questions before you arrange a visit.

A cat can share your home for fifteen years or more, so there is no reward for rushing. Ask the seller about vaccination, worming, microchipping and desexing, whether the kitten is old enough to leave its mother, and how it has been raised around people. Ask for the microchip number and breeder details where the seller has them, and arrange to meet the kitten with its mother or in the home it has grown up in.

Popular breeds to look through: Manx, Ragdoll, Abyssinian, Oriental, Russian and Munchkin. Coat length, energy and how vocal a breed tends to be all differ far more than the photos suggest, so ask the seller how much grooming the coat needs and how the cat behaves around children and other pets. A crossbred cat can be every bit as good a match as a pedigree one.

Getting ready before the kitten comes home? A carrier, a litter tray, a scratching post and a quiet bed all turn up in cat food and accessories. If you would rather give a home to a cat already waiting for one, carers and rescue groups list through Rescue a Cat, where cats are rehomed for adoption rather than sale. There is more across Pets and Horses, including Dogs and Other Pets.

Rehoming a litter or a cat of your own? Create a listing, add clear photos of the kitten itself, and set out the age, sex and breed along with what has been done on vaccination, worming and microchipping. The more a buyer can check up front, the fewer wasted trips for both of you and the better the outcome for the animal.
