how to sell your car victoria Page 2

Selling a car in Victoria is easy enough—just follow the breadcrumbs and don’t lose the Roadworthy Certificate along the way.

If you’re selling it registered, you’ll generally need a current RWC to transfer rego; otherwise sell it unregistered and let the buyer sort their permits.

Price it sensibly (peek at Tradingpost and recent sales), clean it like your bond depends on it, and take clear photos in daylight.

Get a PPSR search to prove there’s no finance owing, keep service history handy, and insist on secure payment—no creative cheques, thanks.

Complete the transfer through myVicRoads within the required timeframe, give the buyer a receipt with VIN/rego/date, and keep copies.

Remove e‑tags and personal data from the infotainment, and wave it off like a proud parent who’s just pocketed a tidy sum.
