how to service your car Page 45

Servicing your car is not rocket science, but it does require a smidge of patience and a dash of mechanical sympathy. First off, check and change your engine oil and filter regularly—usually every 10,000 to 15,000 km, depending on your vehicle. Next, inspect and replace air filters, brake pads, and tyres as needed; these keep you safe and your car breathing freely. Don't forget to top up fluids: coolant, brake fluid, power steering fluid, and windscreen washer fluid. Lastly, a good once-over on belts, hoses, and battery terminals can save you from roadside dramas. For specific intervals and parts, always consult your vehicle's manual or a trusted mechanic. Alternatively, sites like ServiceCentral can help you find local servicing pros.
