You don’t “transfer” ACT rego to NSW; you cancel ACT and register the car in NSW as a freshie.
Get a NSW CTP Green Slip, book a Blue Slip (AUVIS) inspection, then roll into Service NSW with proof of identity, proof of NSW garaging address, and proof of acquisition/current ACT rego.
Hand in the ACT plates, pay stamp duty and rego fees, and you’ll leave with NSW plates and paperwork that doesn’t scare the neighbours.
If there’s ACT rego left, chase a refund from Access Canberra using the plate-surrender receipt.
Oddball vehicles (trailers, home-built specials) may need a weighbridge ticket or extra docs—check before you queue.
Do Blue Slip, buy Green Slip, then Service NSW; smoother than a fresh bitumen B-road.
