To move a PayID in Australia, you either release it from your old bank or claim it at your new one—think number porting, but for money. In the new bank’s app, add a PayID (mobile, email, ABN) and choose transfer/move; that triggers a secure handover and, after a short cooling-off period, payments land in the new account. Prefer the belt-and-braces approach? Unlink the PayID at the old bank first, then create it at the new bank—same result, fewer theatrics. You can’t have one PayID active at two banks, and there’s usually no fee. Expect identity checks and possible delays of up to a day or two, which is banking’s way of saying “we tried to be safe, not speedy.”
