how uber carshare works Page 196

Uber Carshare is the borrow-a-car-without-befriending-your-neighbour option: sign up, verify your licence, then book a nearby car in the app by the hour or day.

You unlock with your phone, grab the keys from the keypad (or keyless), take quick photos, and hit the road—fuel and tolls are tracked automatically.

Pricing mixes time plus per‑kilometre charges and a booking fee; insurance is included, with an excess you can usually reduce for a few extra dollars.

Return the car to its home spot on time, reasonably clean, with the required fuel level, and log end-of-trip photos so nobody kicks up a fuss later.

Great for IKEA runs and airport dashes; just pick the right vehicle class and read the owner’s rules before you book.
