hybrid utes australia 2023 Page 3

Short answer: in 2023 Australia didn’t really have hybrid utes; it had rumours, teasers, and PowerPoint promises.

No series or plug‑in hybrid utes were actually on sale—only the fully electric LDV eT60 made it to showrooms.

Toyota announced a HiLux 48V mild‑hybrid for 2024 deliveries (a helpful nudge, not a true hybrid), while Ford confirmed a Ranger plug‑in hybrid arriving from 2025.

GWM’s Cannon HEV was floated for our market but hadn’t launched locally in 2023.

If you want an electrified tray today, you’re looking at EVs like the LDV eT60 or waiting a tick for those hybrids to finally materialise.
