hyundai iload diesel problems Page 2

Thinking of a Hyundai iLoad diesel or yours is getting grumpy? They’re tough workhorses, but like any modern oiler they have a few party tricks.

• DPF clogging from lots of short trips; needs proper regens and hot runs
• EGR/Intake soot buildup causing rough idle and limp mode
• Injector seal leaks (“black death”) leading to fumes and hard starting
• Turbo/intercooler hose splits or boost leaks sapping power
• Manuals: dual‑mass flywheel/clutch wear if lugged around town

Look for service history, listen for whooshes under boost, and scan for codes before you hand over cash.

A pre-purchase inspection by a diesel specialist is cheaper than a new DPF and far less sweary.
