The Hyundai iLoad’s 2.5‑litre CRDi will happily do 300,000 km+ with proper servicing, and plenty of fleet vans nudge 400,000 km before major surgery.

Skip oil changes or do only short, sooty trips and it’ll age faster than milk in the sun — diesels are picky like that.

Common high‑km gremlins to watch for:

• EGR/DPF clogging on urban duty cycles
• Injector wear causing rough idle or smoky starts
• Turbo fatigue or boost leaks
• Timing-chain rattle from neglected oil changes
• Cooling/accessory issues: hoses, water pump, harmonic balancer

Buy on service history, not bravado, and budget for preventative maintenance to keep it trucking without the wallet weeping.
