In Queensland, an Inspection Notice (often called a Vehicle Inspection Notice) is the bureaucratic way of saying “your car needs a check-up, pronto.” It’s issued when police or Transport and Main Roads suspect defects or roadworthiness issues, and it tells you what needs fixing and how to clear it. The usual drill: repair the faults, get a safety/roadworthy inspection at an Approved Inspection Station or TMR, and keep proof of the work. If the notice says the vehicle is grounded or unsafe, only drive it for repairs or inspection—no Sunday cruises. Deadlines and conditions are printed on the notice itself, so follow those to the letter or you risk fines or registration headaches. When everything’s sorted, submit the paperwork and enjoy the sweet sound of compliance.
