is capped price servicing worth it Page 43

Capped price servicing is the budgetary equivalent of putting the lid on the Milo tin—predictable, tidy, and hard to spill. You’ll know the maximum you’ll pay for each scheduled service at the dealer, which is brilliant for cash flow and can sweeten resale. But it usually covers only the logbook items—fluids, filters, inspections—so wear parts like brakes, tyres and batteries still sting extra. A good independent workshop can be cheaper, but may lack the shiny lounge, software updates, and the warm fuzzies some buyers want come warranty time. In Australia many brands run caps for several years, with intervals by time or kilometres; compare inclusions, not just the headline number. If you value certainty and dealer history, it’s worth it; if you chase rock-bottom costs, shop around first.
