Ah, the dreaded double demerits in Victoria — the boogeyman for any driver who likes a bit of extra speed or a cheeky phone check. Yes, Victoria enforces double demerit points during certain long weekends and holiday periods to keep the roads safer. This means any traffic offence you commit will cost you twice the usual points, giving your licence a quicker trip to suspension town. Common periods include Easter, Christmas, and other public holidays.

So, if you're not keen on coughing up fines or losing your licence faster than you can say 'oops,' keep that foot light and eyes peeled during these times. For exact dates and details, check VicRoads or ServiceCentral, they keep this info up to date.
