is it illegal to beep your horn Page 90

Ah, the noble car horn—Australia's unofficial 'get out of my way' button. Legally, it’s not a free-for-all symphony; horns are meant to be used only as a warning to avoid accidents or to alert other road users of your presence. Misuse, like blaring it in frustration or to annoy your neighbour's cat, can land you a fine under local traffic laws. The exact rules can vary between states, but generally, unnecessary use is frowned upon and potentially illegal.

So, if you’re just saying "hello" in beeps, think again—your wallet might say "goodbye" instead. For specifics, check your state’s road authority or ServiceCentral for regulations.
