is my airbag safe qld Page 3

Worried your airbag’s more shrapnel piñata than safety cushion? In Queensland, punch your VIN into the federal recalls checker at recalls.gov.au, then ring your manufacturer or dealer to double-confirm.

If it’s a Takata unit—especially the urgent “Alpha”—don’t drive it; most brands will tow the car, give you a loaner, and replace it free. The Queensland Department of Transport and Main Roads can also confirm your recall status and what it means for rego or roadworthy. Book the fix immediately, because exploding dashboards are a terrible party trick. You’ll spend nothing, gain peace of mind, and keep your face off the confetti list.
