Installing an ISOFIX car seat is blissfully simple—clip, click, and no swear jar—provided you do it right.
Find the two ISOFIX anchor bars in the back seat, push the seat’s connectors on until the indicators turn green, then pull the adjuster straps tight so the base moves less than about 2 cm at the belt path. In Australia you must also attach the top tether strap to its anchor point and tension it properly—no twists, no slack, no heroics. Set the recline using the level marker, adjust the harness to your kid’s shoulders, and never mix ISOFIX and seatbelt unless the seat says so (almost none do here). Middle seats often lack ISOFIX, and accessories like seat protectors can be a no‑go unless the manual allows them. When in doubt, check both the vehicle and restraint manuals or book an authorised fitting check.
