james dean porsche Page 2

Ah, the infamous tale of James Dean and his Porsche—specifically the 1955 Porsche 550 Spyder, famously nicknamed "Little Bastard." This sleek little speedster, with a 1.5-litre, 110 hp engine, was as much a death trap as it was a showpiece of German engineering. Dean's love for fast cars was well-known, but this one tragically became part of his legend after the fatal crash.

New Porsches of this vintage would set you back a king's ransom today, thanks to rarity—imagine a few million AUD at auction. Used prices are irrelevant; this one is priceless and immortalised in automotive lore. For those who want to gawk or maybe find a replica, CarShowroom or Tradingpost might have some cheeky options.
