l1 driving test tasmania

The L1 driving test in Tasmania is a computer-based road rules exam that gets you your first learner licence.

Study the Tasmanian Driver’s Handbook, because winging it has about the same success rate as parallel-parking a caravan in a gale.

You’ll take it at a Service Tasmania centre, present valid ID, and do a quick eyesight check before tackling multiple-choice questions on signs, speed limits, and right-of-way.

Pass and you’ll receive an L1 learner licence with the usual conditions: display L plates, have a fully licensed supervisor, wear seatbelts, and maintain a zero BAC.

Fees and procedures can change, so confirm the latest details with Tasmanian transport authorities before you book.
