l plates victoria rules Page 2

Ah, the sacred rules of L plates in Victoria—because apparently, driving without a clue needs regulation. Here's the gist:

• L plates must be clearly visible on the front and rear of the vehicle.
• They must be displayed while the learner driver is behind the wheel.
• Speed limits are lower for L plate drivers—usually capped at 80 km/h.
• No alcohol consumption allowed; zero blood alcohol content is mandatory.
• Supervision by a fully licensed driver is required for all learner drivers.

These rules keep the roads safer and your insurance premiums from skyrocketing. For the official, oh-so-thrilling details, check out VicRoads or ServiceCentral.
