The Lagotto Romagnolo is a charming Italian water dog famed for its truffle-hunting prowess rather than its poolside lounging skills. This breed sports a dense, curly coat that's hypoallergenic, making it a decent choice for allergy sufferers. Expect a medium-sized dog with weights around 11-16 kg and a height of 43-48 cm. They're intelligent, affectionate, but require plenty of exercise and mental stimulation to avoid turning your furniture into chew toys.
Prices in Australia for a new Lagotto pup can range from about AUD 3,000 to 5,000, while used or older dogs might be found on PuppyList or Tradingpost for less. Be prepared for regular grooming sessions to keep that curly coat mat-free. Always check official breed clubs for detailed care guides and breed standards.
