lamington national park walk Page 1221

Lamington National Park dishes up ancient rainforest and smug step counts, with most walks kicking off at O’Reilly’s (Green Mountains) or Binna Burra.

Short and scenic: Moran’s Falls return or the O’Reilly’s Tree Top Walk; waterfall chasers go for Elabana Falls via Picnic Rock or the Box Forest Circuit (about 11 km).

Craving a full-day epic? Try the Coomera Circuit or Toolona Creek Circuit (both roughly 17 km)—all vines, creeks and more ferns than a garden centre.

Tracks are well signed but slick after rain; leeches adore optimists, so bring spray, gaiters and a sense of humour.

Check park alerts, start early and pack layers—this is Gondwana rainforest, not a suburban footpath.
