In South Australia, the “learner’s driving test” usually means the step from Ls to Ps via either the VORT (one-off road test) or CBT&A (logbook competency route).
If you’re under 25 you’ll need 75 hours (including night hours) and at least 12 months on Ls, plus the Hazard Perception Test before the big day.
VORT checks low-speed manoeuvres, observation, gap selection and general roadcraft; CBT&A ticks off the same skills over multiple sessions.
Bring a roadworthy car with L-plates, your permit and logbook/app; fees and booking are through Service SA or accredited trainers.
Do the basics well—mirror-signal-shoulder checks, smooth braking, calm head—and you’ll be on red Ps before your coffee cools.
