In NSW, the learner’s log book is your proof you’ve done the miles, not just chauffeured to Maccas once. If you’re under 25, you must log 120 hours of supervised driving, including 20 hours at night; 25 or over are exempt from the log requirement. You can record trips in the paper log book or the Service NSW app—both count the same, minus the dog-eared pages. Lessons with an accredited instructor score the 3-for-1 bonus (up to 10 hours of daytime lessons, counting as 30), but night lessons only count as actual time. Keep entries accurate with dates, times, routes and supervisor details, or the testing officer will frown at you like a disappointed aunt.
