In the ACT you’ll sit the Road Rules Knowledge Test, administered by Access Canberra, to qualify for your learner (L) licence.
Study the ACT Road Rules Handbook, then book the test (service centre or online where available), bring proof of identity, and be ready to pay the applicable fee.
Pass the multiple‑choice test and you can apply for your Ls, display L plates, and drive only with a fully licensed supervisor in the passenger seat.
Keep a clean record—zero BAC and eyes on the signs—and you’ll be on the path to your provisional licence before your mates finish arguing about parallel parking.
