long ranger fuel tank review Page 4

The Long Ranger fuel tank is the sort of upgrade that swaps range anxiety for smug silence—especially out bush where servos are rarer than a quiet UHF channel.

Build and fitment are generally solid, with internal baffles to tame slosh and vehicle-specific brackets, but it’s a pro install job if you like your floorpan unperforated.

Real-world gains are big: you add significant capacity (often tens of litres, sometimes over 100 depending on model), stretch your touring legs, and skip the jerry-can juggling.

Trade-offs? Extra weight nibbles at payload/GVM, departure angle or spare-wheel location can change, fuel gauges can read a bit optimistically, and you’ll want ADR-compliant gear and paperwork.

For long-distance touring it’s a beaut upgrade from a reputable brand like this; just budget for quality installation and keep an eye on tyre pressures as your range (and temptations) grow.
