Most Mazdas with the MZD Connect system (roughly 2014–2018) can be upgraded to Android Auto using an official kit that swaps the USB hub and adds new cabling. Dealers in Australia typically charge about AUD 500–800 all-in (parts and labour), while independents may do it for a touch less. Newer Mazdas (2019-on) usually have Android Auto baked in, so you’re laughing already. Aftermarket head units are a plan B, but check steering-wheel control and camera integration before you dive in. If you’ve got warranty left, a dealer fit keeps things tidy and arguments to a minimum.
