mazda cx 60 petrol review

Mazda’s CX‑60 petrol is a bold move: a premium‑leaning SUV with a silky inline‑six and rear‑drive DNA, priced to annoy the Europeans.

The 3.3‑litre turbo petrol with mild‑hybrid assist is smooth and strong, but the new 8‑speed auto can feel a bit fidgety at low speeds.

On a back road it’s grippy and composed, yet the ride around town can skew firm—sporty by intent, busy by reality on scruffy Aussie bitumen.

Cabin quality is excellent for the money, with classy materials and clear infotainment, though the interface still favours logic over flashy gimmicks.

Safety tech is comprehensive and the running costs look reasonable for a six, so long as you don’t drive like every traffic light is a qualifying lap.

If you want a refined engine and upscale feel without paying for a German badge, this is a compelling, if imperfect, swing at the big time.
