melbourne hook turn Page 2

Ah, the infamous Melbourne hook turn—an exercise in patience and urban choreography. This quirky traffic rule demands you stay in the left lane but signal a right turn by moving into the right lane only at the intersection's far corner. Essentially, you turn right from the left lane, which would baffle any non-Melburnian. It's designed to keep tram tracks clear and traffic flowing smoothly.

Remember, you must wait for the traffic lights facing the road you're turning into before completing the turn. Failure to comply can result in a fine and the scorn of fellow drivers. For more nuanced details, consult local road rules or ServiceCentral.
