melbourne mobile phone detection cameras

Yes, Melbourne has mobile phone detection cameras, and they’re not shy about it.

Victoria uses fixed and trailer-mounted units with high-resolution imaging and AI to spot drivers handling phones or skipping seatbelts, day or night, rain or shine.

They’re moved around, locations aren’t always signposted, and they can ping you in slow traffic just as easily as on the freeway.

Get caught and you’re looking at a solid fine plus demerit points—so use a proper cradle, keep interactions genuinely hands-free, or better yet, let the notifications simmer until you’ve parked.

Think of them as the ever-vigilant passenger who never blinks and absolutely judges your multitasking.
