In Australia, Teslas use the Type 2 (Mennekes) connector for AC charging, and CCS2 for DC fast charging—simple, sensible, and mercifully universal. Most public AC chargers with a Type 2 socket will work if you bring a Type 2-to-Type 2 cable; tethered Type 2 destination chargers just plug straight in. For rapid juice, head to CCS2 DC sites (including newer Tesla Superchargers); older Model S/X may need a CCS2 retrofit to use non-Tesla DC chargers. If a charger looks fussy, it’s usually the software, not your car—try another station or reboot the app and pretend you meant to. Keep an eye on posted power limits so expectations don’t outrun electrons.
