In Australia, Teslas use the Type 2 (Mennekes) connector for AC charging, and CCS2 for DC fast charging—simple, sensible, and mercifully universal. Most public AC chargers with a Type 2 socket will work if you bring a Type 2-to-Type 2 cable; tethered Type 2 destination chargers just plug straight in. For rapid juice, head to CCS2 DC sites (including newer Tesla Superchargers); older Model S/X may need a CCS2 retrofit to use non-Tesla DC chargers. If a charger looks fussy, it’s usually the software, not your car—try another station or reboot the app and pretend you meant to.
