The Mercedes GLC 300e is the sort of plug-in hybrid that does school runs on electrons and weekenders on petrol without breaking a sweat—or your zen.
It’s brisk when the turbo four and e-motor pile on together, whispery in EV mode, and the cabin is peak Merc: plush, techy, and slightly allergic to fingerprints.
Downsides? It’s heavier than a regular GLC, some model years pinch a bit of boot space for the battery, and it only shines if you actually plug it in.
If you can charge at home and mostly do urban miles, it’s a quietly brilliant daily; if not, the non-hybrid GLC may be the smarter, lighter, cheaper play.
